2022 Beechworth Shiraz [12]

Our 2022 Shiraz is what happens when Beechworth’s granite and clay soils stop arguing and decide to get along — 40% granite, 60% estate-grown clay, and absolutely zero compromise.
 
The season was kind enough (cool-to-mild, with just enough rain to keep things interesting), and we gave it a proper 22 months in barriques to sort itself out and build some character along the way.
 
What comes out the other side is a proper looker — mid-to-long finish, ripe berries all over it, with that savoury Beechworth swagger doing its thing. You’ll get plum pudding, liquorice, raspberry, and a flick of white pepper on the finish, like it’s trying to charm you and tease you at the same time.
 
Fine, silky tannins keep it all in line, with a brisk line of acidity giving it just enough bite to remind you it’s not here to behave politely. It’s elegant, fragrant, and a bit luscious — the sort of wine that rewards patience… but won’t judge you if you crack into it now. Or stash it away until 2028 and pretend you’re very organised.
