2024 Beechworth Chardonnay [6]

After 20 months of behaving itself in old and new French oak underground, our 2024 Chardonnay has finally been let out into the wild. And because we bottled just ~80 dozen, we haven’t exactly gone wild with it either — so we’ve bundled a small stash into a six-pack for those quick enough to get in first. This is very much a “run, don’t walk, and maybe don’t tell your mates” situation if you’re chasing a proper Beechworth Chardonnay fix.
 
This one’s pure Baarmutha — no fluff, no fuss, no nonsense. Pale straw in the glass, it comes in swinging with stone fruit and melon, then gets pulled into line by a crisp, zippy finish that keeps everything honest.
 
It’s ripe, complex, and just a little bit cheeky, with a fine line of acidity stretching the palate longer than it probably should. Crack it now while it’s fresh and lively, or squirrel a few away for 3–4 years and pretend you planned it all along.
