A New Sparkling Chapter for Baarmutha Wines

There’s something special about a wine that takes its time. After several years quietly evolving behind the scenes, we're super proud to release our first sparkling wine — a 2022 Blanc de Blanc, crafted in the traditional method and shaped by patience, precision and place.

 

Sourced from our Beechworth vineyard, this is a wine that reflects both the region’s natural strengths and a long-held ambition to produce a sparkling of real intent. Made entirely from Chardonnay, the wine has spent extended time on lees, building texture and complexity while retaining the fine, mineral line that defines high-quality sparkling from elevated sites.

The result is bright and finely detailed: citrus and green apple at its core, layered with subtle brioche, almond and a gentle creamy note from time in bottle. The mousse is fine and persistent, the acidity precise, and the finish long, clean and quietly saline — a wine that speaks more of structure and finesse than overt richness.

It’s been a few years in the making, and very much a considered addition to the range. Not rushed, not forced — simply released when it felt ready.

For sparkling wine lovers across Australia, this marks an exciting new chapter for Baarmutha. A Beechworth Blanc de Blanc that captures the energy of the region, and the rewards of taking the long way around.
